MANILA, Philippines – Excitement is in full swing once again as the UAAP Season 86 Cheerdance Competition happens today, December 2, 2023 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The eight member schools are now ready to give their loudest cheer for the fans and viewers of the 29-year-old sporting event.
Most schools vowed to increase the difficulty level of their respective routines.
Squads will showcase 5 to 6 minutes of performance each with the timer starting the moment each team steps on the blue mats, a significant change from the old practice.

Opening the curtain for today's event at 2:00 pm will be the University of the East (UE) Pep Squad, this season's host school and 4th placer last season.
National University (NU) Pep Squad, aiming to keep crown under new head coach Gab Bajacan, will perform second parading the hits of Elvis “King of Rock and Roll” Presley.
NU has become a household name in the cheerdance landscape since winning the university's first crown in 2013. The NU Pep Squad has won seven of the last nine titles.
Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles, Adamson University Pep Squad, University of the Philippines (UP) Pep Squad and De La Salle University (DLSU) Animo Squad will perform next in order.
Last season's second-placer Far Eastern University (FEU) Cheering Squad and third-placer University of Santo Tomas (UST) Salinggawi Dance Troupe will close out the show.
