'Napagkamalang ayuda ni Papa!' New LPT flaunts funny convo with dad, shares struggles, tips to success

MANILA, Philippines – It feels good to convey and share milestones with family, especially with parents. For students who have completed their studies and passed the board exam, this serves as a gift for parents who sacrificed to fulfill the right to education and achieve academic success.

But what if the "tearful" moment is replaced with laughter and amusement?

Art John Arguelles' Facebook post has gone viral, who graduated Cum Laude with a degree Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Sciences from the Philippine Normal University-Manila, and passed the 2023 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers. He was also a Service Awardee for the Social Science Club in their department.

The social media post gained attention due to the delightful conversation he had with his father.

Based on the post, he sent a screenshot to their family chat group where his name was visible in the list of successful examinees in the mentioned licensure exam.

However, his father mistakenly thought it was a list for financial aid or cash assistance, also known as “ayuda” in Filipino language.

It is remembered that during the height of the pandemic, the term "ayuda" became a typical term.

“Sinend ko sa GC ng pamilya yung listahan na pasado na ako sa LET.”

“Papa: ‘Ano yan sa Ayuda?’”

“Mas naiyak ako. 😌.”

In the interview with The Summit Express, Art mentioned that his father was delighted upon learning that he passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers.

“Ahhh hindi po kasi kami magkakasama during the release of the result. Wala rin silang idea na kahapon ang result. Nasa labas po ako along with my co-teachers so noong nalaman ko sinend ko agad sa GC namin hahaha,” he said.

“Sakto Papa ko lang online, akala niya ayuda pero super happy naman siya kasi nakapasa ako 😄.”

Teacher Art is currently working as an Araling Panlipunan teacher in a private school.

While his post may be humorous, Art also has some serious stories from his college days.

“Most of my struggles ay laging patungkol sa napakahirap na commuting experience natin sa Pinas. All the way from Las Piñas ay kailangan kong bumiyahe almost 2 hours papuntang PNU,” he stated.

“Mahirap mag-college na hindi well-off ang family kaya suwerte ako na walang binabayaran sa University. With these experiences I can say na dapat na talagang magkaroon tayo ng mas maayos na public transportation and more budget for Education.”

“Mas maraming makakapag-aral at papasa sa LET o sa kung ano mang board exams if they will receive all the necessary help and convenience they can get.”

The teacher also generously shared tips for board takers who are hopeful to pass the LET.

“We really need to review. Sa review center man or self-review mas okay na handa tayo mag take ng exam.”

“More than prayers, we also need to make some efforts to make sure that we're going to succeed.”

“Isa sa mga natutunan ko sa review ay hindi naman talaga lalabas lahat ng nireview mo but the training and patience in answering multiple numbers of practice exams will help you so much to do well sa actual test.”

Art also expressed gratitude to those who were part of his journey.

“Gusto kong pasalamatan ang Panginoon, feeling ko Siya talaga to more than me.”

“I also want to express my gratitude to my parents, my family, The special people in my life, and my lovely dogs. Tina Mae, this one is for you also.”

Congratulations, Teacher Art!
