Vegetable vendor in the morning, student at night: A mother of 3 who graduated in college rakes inspiration

The pursuit of dreams knows no age or life status, as long as it is accompanied by diligence, determination, perseverance, self-confidence, and trust in the Almighty.

Continuing to inspire not only individuals of her age group but also "Gen Z" social media users, is the story of a mother with three children. Despite toiling during the day, she has chosen to pursue her education as a student at night.

Liezel Nudalo Formentera finished the Alternative Learning System in 2012 and later pursued higher education in college starting in 2018.

Liezel completed her Bachelor of Industrial Technology Major in Computer Technology degree at Cebu Technological University on August 31, 2022.

On September 18, 2022, her Facebook post about her gratitude after graduation went viral on social media.

It can be read, “Being a mother of three children, a vegetable vendor by day, and a student at night is not easy, but I thank God that he gives me strength in the midst of these circumstances. Thanks to my beloved customers for supporting my small business. Now, behind this situation, I have achieved my goal in life... Thank you, dearest Jesus, for these blessings.”

In the interview with Liezel, she admitted that it's challenging to juggle being a vegetable vendor, a mother to three children, a wife, and a student at the same time. There are times when she feels overwhelmed by physical and mental fatigue, compounded by financial challenges. However, she expresses gratitude to God because she was able to endure everything with His guidance.

Fortunately, her husband, who works as a farmer, endorsed and facilitated her pursuit of her dreams, contributing to her achievements. While she aspires to further her education and become a teacher, she acknowledges the significance of already accomplishing her first degree.

“Wala po pala talagang edad sa edukasyon. Grabeng saya ko po. Hindi ko po sukat akalain na mapagtagumpayan ko po ang mga pangarap ko. Hindi ko po sukat akalain na dininig ng mahal na Panginoon ang panalangin ko. Hindi ko po sukat akalain na makapagtapos ako ng kolehiyo,” she said.

If you visit Liezel's Facebook account, her life appears to be good and well-organized now.

Congratulations, Liezel!
