Top 1 in March 2022 civil service exam admitted she had mental block during the test

You thought you would fail because you had a mental block during the actual test-taking, but when the results came out, you not only passed, but also ranked Top 1. Wow!

That's what happened to Nenita Padua Liis from Bauko, Mountain Province. She took up a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Saint Louis University and passed the March 2022 Civil Service Examination at the Sub-Professional level, ranking Top 1.

According to a report from the Philippine Entertainment Portal or PEP on September 16, 2022, both of her parents are government employees. She is the youngest among five siblings.

From a young age, she was already brought to her parents' workplace so she was exposed to clerical work. Her parents also advised her to pursue an accounting course to be eligible for the board exam.

Even at a young age, Nenita already knew that she wanted to work in a government office.

“Pagtuntong ko po ng 18, biglang nagka-pandemic, so, hindi po ako nakapag-take,” she said.

"Noong kumuha ako ng exam last March na ini-open ulit nila yung exam, I was 19 na po that time.”

Meanwhile, Nenita reportedly struggled with time management when she took the civil service exam because she had to juggle "studying, reviewing, and online selling."

She admitted that she got a bit confused during the actual exam.

She said she experienced a mental block because her nerves got the best of her when she first opened the test booklet. She decided to answer the easier questions first, and she allocated the remaining time for the test items that required more thought.

Nenita is very thankful to the review center she enrolled with because they really taught them various techniques on how to answer the eligibility exam, especially considering its time constraints.

In that review center, Nenita was inspired to become a topnotcher because their lecturer had also ranked in the top 5 in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in September 2021. He is Baltazar Dela Trinidad.

According to Nenita's admission, she was extremely surprised to find out that she was the top 1 because her rating of 86.05% didn't seem like a score for a topnotcher.

Nevertheless, her parents, friends, classmates, and even the lecturers at the review center, especially its founder, were still very proud of her.
