“Like mother, like daughter!”
The emotions of netizens were stirred by the story of a mother and daughter from Sto. Tomas, Davao Del Norte after they marched together on stage to receive the symbol of their diploma during the commencement exercises held at their school in June 2023.
Both Airesh Labiste Luna, 47 years old, and her daughter Arianne Kaye, 22 years old, graduated with a degree in Technical-Vocational Teacher Education from Sto. Tomas College of Agriculture, Sciences, and Technology.
In Arianne's Facebook post, you can see their pride in their achievements as a mother and daughter.
“Ug nahuman gyud nato mama, may gani wala ka seg absent!!! Salamat kaayo sa tanan ma, mahal kaayo tika (And we really did it, Mom, you never missed a class!!! Thank you very much for everything, I love you so much)” she stated.
“May this post inspire people who put their dreams on hold and dili na muskwela kay tungod sa ‘edad’, it’s never too late to rewrite your story (May this post inspire people who put their dreams on hold and have stopped going to school because of their 'age'; it's never too late to rewrite your story).”
“My mother waited 20 years for this to happen. Embrace your unique journey and let it fuel your motivation.”
“The Mother & Daughter of Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education finally graduated! Thank you STCAST! To God be all the Glory!” she continued.
Airesh admitted that she is the oldest in their class, that's why everyone calls her "momsh."
Momsh Airesh reportedly plans to pursue a master's degree, while Arianne prepares for the board exam.
Mommy Airesh proved that age is not a hindrance to achieving education and reaching one's dreams. Likewise, Arianne Kaye also demonstrated that a child can be a guiding figure for his/her parents in this matter.
Congratulations to the both of you!
