Kathryn and Dolly's 'A Very Good Girl' earns over Php 40 million since opening

MANILA, Philippines – ABS-CBN Films’ “A Very Good Girl” just had a very good opening week as it amassed over Php 40 million as of September 30 or since opening in cinemas last Wednesday.

The film recently made headline as it earned over P10 million on its first day, making it the biggest Filipino movie of 2023 with over 32,000 tickets sold.

"I am over the moon and I am a very happy girl with everything that's happening now. Grabe ang support na ibinibigay nila sa amin and of course sa 'A Very Good Girl' with Ms. D (de Leon) here," lead star Kathryn Bernardo expressed in an interview during the red carpet of ABS-CBN Ball on Saturday.

Now screening in more than 250 cinemas nationwide, “A Very Good Girl” is taking the country by storm with moviegoers praising the film and the acting prowess of the cast.

Kathryn and Dolly also visited the different cinemas in Metro Manila during the movie’s opening day to express their gratitude and show their appreciation.

The lead stars are scheduled to fly to the US as well for the Hollywood premiere of “A Very Good Girl” on October 4 at The Silver Screen, Pacific Design Theater in Los Angeles, California. US theatrical screenings of “A Very Good Girl” will begin on October 6.

Besides the US, the movie will be shown next month in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Guam and Saipan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Nigeria, and in the Middle East.

“A Very Good Girl” also stars Chie Filomeno, Jake Ejercito, Gillian Vicencio, Kaori Oinuma, Ana Abad Santos, Nour Hooshmand, Donna Cariaga, Althea Ruedas, Nathania Guerrero, and Angel Aquino.


The movie marks Bernardo's comeback on the big screen since "Hello, Love, Goodbye" and her first movie with the BAFTA and Golden Globe nominee Dolly.

Bernardo is the first and only Filipina actress who breached the Php 800-million mark for two movies. One was in 2018 for "The Hows of Us" and the other one is "Hello, Love, Goodbye" in 2019. She currently holds the highest-grossing Filipino Film of All Time for the latter.
