Social media broadcasters file criminal case against Toni Fowler

MANILA, Philippines – The Kapisanan ng Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas, Inc. (KSMBPI) just filed criminal charges against online personality Toni Fowler due to her allegedly explicit contents on her YouTube channel.

According to the latest post on their official Facebook page, a complaint was filed with the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office this Wednesday, September 27.

"KSMBPI President Atty Leo Olarte, MD and KSMBPI lawyer Atty Mark Tolentino files criminal case versus Toni Fowler on behalf of Kapisanan ng Social Broadcasters ng Pilipinas, Inc. ( KSMBPI) at the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office this morning Sept 27, 2023,” it stated.

Social media broadcasters have reportedly filed charges against Fowler due to her music videos on YouTube that allegedly displayed sens*tive parts of the male and female body.

According to the report of PTV, a government-owned network, the case involves three alleged violations of the Revised Penal Code Section 201 in Relation to the Cybercrime Law.

Each video carries a fine ranging from Php 6,000 to Php 12,000 and a penalty of up to 20 years of imprisonment.

The same group also filed a criminal case against the celebrity couple Vice Ganda and Ion Perez in connection with the "icing incident" on the noontime show "It's Showtime." The noontime show was called out by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) led by Chair Lala Sotto because of alleged violations.

Meanwhile, Fowler has not yet issued a response, reaction, or statement regarding this issue.
