MANILA, Philippines – The June 2023 NAPOLCOM exam results, which include the complete list of passers and top 20, for the Philippine National Police (PNP) entrance and promotional examinations are released online on September 20, 2023 or in three (3) months after the tests.
The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) administered the exams to civilians and police examinees in designated testing centers nationwide on June 17, 2023 (PNPE Exam) and June 18, 2023 (PROMEX).
As announced, a total of 11,363 or 30.01% of the 37,859 examinees hurdled the police examinations.
The announcement came after the NAPOLCOM En Banc issued Resolution No. 2023-1056, dated September 18, 2023, approving and authorizing the release of the results of the PNP Entrance (PNPE) and Promotional Examinations.
The total number of passers is distributed, as follows: 5,641 passers of the PNPE Examination representing 20.21% of the 27,908 PNPE examinees, and the combined 5,722 passers constituting 57.50% of the 9,951 in-service police officers who took the PNP Promotional Examinations.
The 5,722 police officers who successfully passed the promotional examinations per category are broken down, as follows: Police Officer 1st Class Examination for Police Major and Police Lieutenant Colonel (60 passers); Police Officer 2nd Class Examination for Police Lieutenant and Police Captain (231 passers); Police Officer 3rd Class Examination for Police Master Sergeant, Police Senior Master Sergeant, Police Chief Master Sergeant and Police Executive Master Sergeant (3,099 passers); and Police Officer 4th Class Examination for Police Corporal and Police Staff Sergeant (2,332 passers).

COVERAGE OF EXAMINATION
The three-hour examination for PNP entrance exam consists of objective-type and multiple choice items on general information, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and logical reasoning.
The promotional examinations, also in 3 hours, include general information, police administration and operations, and police customs and tradition/values and ethical standards.
REPORTS OF RATING/VERIFICATION OF TEST RESULT
Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for examination passers and Report of Rating (ROR) for unsuccessful examinees will be sent by mail.
Upon request and payment of PHP150.00, CERTIFICATION of successful examinees may be issued by the Examining Division-Personnel and Administrative Service (ED-PAS), NAPOLCOM Central Office, and by the 17 NAPOLCOM Regional Offices nationwide.
RENAMING OF PNP PROMOTIONAL EXAM TITLES
Due to the modification of the PNP rank classification under Republic Act No. 11200, the current promotional examination titles are no longer appropriate with the present rank classification, hence, it has to be renamed.
RA 11200 entitled “An Act Providing for the Rank Classification in the Philippine National Police, amending for the purpose Section 28 of Republic Act No. 6975, as amended, otherwise known as the "Department of the Interior and Local Government Act of 1990" was signed into law by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on February 8, 2019 and implemented by the PNP on March 25, 2019.
Said law modifies the rank classification in the PNP and standardizes how police officers are addressed.
PREVIOUS EXAMINATIONS
In the December 2022 NAPOLCOM exams, results were announced after four (4) months. A total of 14,046 or 37.96% of the 37,002 examinees hurdled the police examinations. 9,768 aspiring police officers passed the PNP Entrance exams, while 4,278 hurdled the promotional exams.
In the April 2022 NAPOLCOM exams, results were made available online after 4 months. The agency named 6,953 passers of the PNPE Examination representing 33.58% of the 20,706 PNPE examinees, and the combined 5,523 passers constituting 52.36% of the 10,548 in-service police officers who took the PNP Promotional Examinations.
In the November-December 2021 NAPOLCOM exams, results were out in almost two (2) months after the last day of exam. A total of 2,614 out of 19,063 (13.71%) passed the PNP Entrance exams while 1,531 out of 4,963 (30.85%) successfully hurdled the promotional exams.
In the July-September 2021 NAPOLCOM exams, results were released in forty-five (45) working days after the exams. A total of 919 passed the PNPE Examination representing 12.55% of the 7,325 PNPE examinees and combined 825 passed, constituting 26.42% of the 3,122 in-service police officers, who took the PNP promotional examinations.
In the October 2019 NAPOLCOM exams, results were announced online in two (2) months after the tests. A total of 3,684 out of 34,984 (10.53%) passed the PNP Entrance (PNPE) examination while 2,808 out of 11,402 (24.63%) in-service police officers passed the PNP promotional examinations.
In the April 2019 NAPOLCOM exams, results were released online in two (2) months after the tests. A total of 5,121 out of 32,972 (15.53%) hurdled the PNP Entrance exam while 5,481 out of 13,447 (40.76%) passed the promotional exam categories.
NAPOLCOM EXAM OVERVIEW
The PNP Entrance Examination is open to all Filipino citizens who meet the age and educational requirements as well as to Patrolman and Patrolwoman whose appointment is temporary for lack of appropriate eligibility.
On the other hand, the Promotional Examinations are open exclusively to all qualified uniformed members of the PNP who meet the minimum qualification standards for examination in terms of rank and eligibility.
