MANILA, Philippines – Three college professors were killed in a tragic road accident in Tiaong, Quezon on Wednesday night, July 26, 2023.
In a Facebook post, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) confirmed the loss of three 'remarkable educators' namely Dr. Rosie Dulay, Cheryl Bundalian, 28; and Salvo Salvacion, 30.
"Their passion for teaching and unwavering dedication to their students and to this institution will forever be cherished," the university said.
According to the report from Tiaong police, as obtained by 'NEXUS News Beat', the three professors from SLSU-Tiaong campus were hit by a top down jeep while crossing the highway in front of the school along Maharlika Highway, Brgy. Lagalag in Tiaong at around 7:30 pm.
They were rushed to hospitals in Candelaria, Quezon, but all passed away while receiving treatment.
The driver of the jeep, Zaldy Mosquera, 63 years old, from San Pablo City, is now in police custody and facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide.
Reports said the three professors attended a meeting in SLSU Tiaong campus for the upcoming graduation of the students.
Investigation shows that it was raining in the area and the road was dark when the tragic incident occured.
