MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) named the top performing schools in the April 2023 Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) and Registered Master Electrician (RME) board exam. Results are released on Wednesday, May 3 or in three (3) working days after the exam.
PRC conducted the licensure exam in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, and Palawan on April 25 and 26, 2023 for REE and April 27, 2023 for RME.

In the September 2022 Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) board exam, University of Santo Tomas (UST) was the lone top performing school with 90.22% or 83 out of 92 passed. Sorsogon State College - Sorsogon topped the RME board exam with 85.19% or 69 out of 81 passed.
In the April 2022 Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) board exam, University of the Philippines - Los Baños (UPLB) topped the schools with 96.23% or 51 out of 53 passed. Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) followed with 87.50% or 49 out of 56 passed. Sorsogon State College - Sorsogon topped the RME board exam with 84.93% or 62 out of 73 passed.
In the September 2021 REE board exam, Pangasinan State University (PSU) - Urdaneta topped the schools with 96.15% passing rate or 50 out of 52 passed. University of Batangas followed with 91.67% or 77 out of 84 passed. PSU-Urdaneta also led the schools in the RME with 98.08% or 51 out of 52 passed.
In the last electrical engineering board exam before the pandemic (September 2019), University of Batangas (UB) and University of the Philippines (UP) - Diliman were the top performing schools, both with 100% passing rate, 55 and 33 examinees passed. University of Saint Louis - Tuguegarao (USLT) ranked second with 98.08% or 51 out of 52 passed. Meanwhile, Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) -Sto. Tomas topped the schools for RME with 100% passing rate or 55 passed.
