MANILA, Philippines – Willie Revillame broke his silence on the reports that Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS) decided to temporarily suspend some of AllTV’s shows and programs on Wowowin on Saturday, February 4.
The TV host lamented the reactions of viewers and netizens that seem to show they are pleased with the network's decision. Earlier, reports broke out that allegedly his own show, Wowowin, will be included in the shows going off-air.
Willie went on to show his disappointment to those who are rejoicing if ever Wowowin will be among those shows that will stop airing. He recalled his advocacy and how his show has been helping many people in need for a very long time. He asked how others could be happy knowing that some people will lose the support they need when the show gets canceled.
“Ito ang mga ginagawa ng programang ito. Sana hindi mawala ito kasi tumutulong ito sa gobyerno, e. Hindi nga lang sa gobyerno, tumutulong ito sa ating mga kababayan na nangangailangan. Tapos madidinig niyo lang na mawawala, hihinto, natutuwa kayo. Matutuwa ba kayo na may mga kababayan tayong natutulungan, mawawalan? Dapat nga, ipinagdadasal niyo kami na magtuluy-tuloy yung programa,” he said.
Willie also addressed those who called him arrogant and defended his show's efforts. He mentioned his help during calamities in Montalban, Marikina, Siargao, and many others. He also recalled his efforts to help during the pandemic. He also denied rumors of him preparing for politics but mentioned how he declined the offers of former President Rodrigo Duterte for him to run as a senator.
"Ibash niyo ako, I don’t care basta sa puso ko sinsero ako sa mga ginawa ko," he said.
He went on to say the management of AllTV would make a statement on the reports circulating. But he couldn't hide his dismay over some people's reactions.
"Nadapa na nga, sinisipa niyo pa eh. Nasasaktan na nga eh, wag naman," he appealed.
Willie also explained the network's decision because they are struggling to get commercials. He said it's normal because they are starting because they have limited reach.
He said, "You have to understand, nagsisimula pa lang po ang ALLTV. Nagsisimula pa lang kami, sanggol pa lang ito. Talagang wala pang commercial na papasok dito kasi wala pa kaming reach. Wala pa kaming signal. Sinisimulan pa lang, e."
The TV host also seems to imply something more about the details on their frequency that he refuses to reveal.
"Marami pa kayong dapat malaman sa katotohanan. It’s about the frequency, kung alam niyo lang yung totoo. Ayoko lang ho magsalita na pangungunahan ko sila," he added.
For now, Willie asked for prayers that AllTV will succeed, so they can help more people.
Aside from Wowowin, other AllTV-produced shows that are allegedly going to be suspended are Toni Gonzaga's talk show and the morning show M.O.M with Mariel Rodriguez, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Ciara Sotto. AllTV has yet to make an official statement.
