They will all take part in the preliminary question-and-answer round, which will help judges decide on the pageant’s Top 3.
This is the first time in the pageant's history that a drastic cut would be made, from 16 to 5.

The Philippine bet Celeste Cortesi earlier ended her Miss Universe journey after failing to enter the semi-finals.
Cortesi was eyeing the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown after Catriona Gray in 2018, Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, Margie Moran in 1973, and Gloria Diaz in 1969.
Harnaaz Sandhu of India will crown her successor at the end of the event.
Miss Universe 2022 is still ongoing in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA and is aired live on A2Z Channel 11, Kapamilya Channel, Metro Channel, and iWantTFC in the Philippines.
