MANILA, Philippines – Prime singer Sarah Geronimo opened up about her comeback to ABS-CBN’s "ASAP Natin To" in an episode of the variety show on January 8.
The Popstar Royalty introduced her latest song, "Sansinukob," on the ASAP stage. After performing, she had a short interview with hosts Martin Nievera and Robi Domingo. At one point, Robi said they missed Sarah on the show and that “there’s only one Sarah G in the universe.” When asked for a message for her fans, Sarah opened up about finding the courage to return to the limelight.
“Ang totoo po, masayang-masaya po ako na nagkaroon po ako ng courage talaga na makabalik sa pagpe-perform,” she said.
According to Sarah, there have been many events in her life where she felt helpless, and it affected her so much. But it was her strong faith in God that led her back to embracing her talent and to performing on stage again.
Sarah explained that she found her courage in God, her family, her husband, and all those who continue to support her. She also mentioned how Martin encouraged her to keep going on.
“I am starting this year with a grateful heart,” she added.
In an earlier episode, she explained that she has been focusing on creating new songs for her listeners to enjoy. “I really wanted to offer sa aking pong mga listeners ang original songs. Ibang ibang kasi talaga ‘pag kinakanta mo ‘yung sarili mong songs, yung OPM talaga. Iba po pakiramdam” she explained.
It took Sarah 2 years to return to the ASAP stage, where she had been performing regularly since 2004. Her last performance was in the November 2020 episode. She decided to take a break to focus more on her married life.
