MANILA, Philippines – Real-life couple, Jervin and Anjanette Minor, also known as “Power Duo,” entered their way into the grand finals of "America’s Got Talent: All-Stars edition." A video of their performance was posted on YouTube on Tuesday, January 24.
The Filipino contemporary acrobatic dancers impressed the AGT judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum. They won the Superfans' vote with their high-flying aerial dance routine of Calum Scott's "You Are the Reason." Power Duo competed against two other contestants, Ndlovu Youth Choir and Darius Mabda, for the highest Superfan votes. The Pinoy couple won and secured the third spot for the grand finals.
Klum expressed her admiration for the couple's heartfelt performance. She commented, “You saw it, we all saw it. But it doesn't matter because you guys are great. And it is a miracle to watch two people that are in love and that do something so beautiful together."
Jervin explained that their routine was actually made for his wife. He said, “She is the reason why I continue dreaming, and I love her so much.”
"But he didn't know that I loved him first," Anjanette replied.
The couple was among the 60 acts chosen to audition for the All-Stars edition, which premiered on January 2, 2023. Ten acts will compete each week to advance to the final. Each week, five Golden Buzzers, a Group Golden Buzzer, and a Superfans’ Vote winner are selected to advance to the grand finals. When the final auditions are done, Superfans will again vote on the 11 grand finalists to determine the champion in a 2-hour finale.
The Power Duo got in on the fourth round of auditions as the Superfans Vote winner. In a tweet, the couple thanked the judges for the “once in a lifetime” opportunity.
Prior to their AGT stint, Jervin and Anjanette were hailed the champions of “Pilipinas Got Talent” season 5 in 2016. The two admitted they fell in love during the show, and now they have a 1-year-old son.
The couple thanked the PGT judges for seeing their potential years ago and paving the way for their international success. They tagged judges Mariel Padilla, Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin, and Freddie “Sir FMG” M. Garcia to thank them.
