MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 5.3 earthquake jolted Luzon areas with epicenter in Camarines Norte on Wednesday afternoon, December 7, 2022, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Phivolcs said it traced the epicenter of the earthquake 19 kilometers northeast of Tinaga Island (Vinzons) in Camarines Norte) It had a depth of 1 kilometer.
The earthquake, recorded at 01:05 PM, was of tectonic origin.
Metro Manila and Luzon areas like Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Mindoro also experienced tremors.
Phivolcs added that aftershocks may be expected.
