MANILA, Philippines – Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz dominated the 2022 World Weightlifting Championship women’s 55-kilogram division on Thursday (Manila time) in Bogota, Colombia.
Diaz outclassed her opponents when she scored a total lift of 207kg to bag the 3 golds in the snatch, clean and jerk, and total categories. She defeated world champ rivals Rosalba Morales of Colombia and Ana Gabriela Lopez of Mexico.
After earning golds from the Olympics, Asian Games and Southeast Asian Games, Diaz has long sought for the elusive gold of the World Weightlifting Championship. Aside from her gold medals, Diaz also has a bronze from the women’s 53kg in the 2015 worlds and a silver in women’s 55kg in 2021.
The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) described the Filipina champ as "unbeatable."
Diaz is also busy preparing for another victory in the upcoming 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Unbeatable!!!🇵🇭 Watch Hidilyn Diaz win the Gold in Snatch during the W55KG A Group! She lifted 93KG on her second attempt and tried a 96KG on the third but failed! However, that was just an amazing performance as always!! 🤩🏋🏻♀️ pic.twitter.com/84KfwGYvFN
