MANILA, Philippines – The University of the Philippines (UP) is still the nation’s best learning institution, according to the 2023 QS Asia University Rankings.
Every year, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), considered the world's largest international higher education network, releases its ranking of top universities in Asia. Leading universities in the Philippines have been consistently part of the Asian university ranking. However, some of our top bets have slipped by over 10 spots this year.
Considered the frontrunner among top universities in the country, UP dropped by 10 spots from last year. In the 2023 QS Asia University Rankings, it currently ranks 87th from its 2022 ranking of 77th.
The Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) also slipped down by 10 spots this year with a ranking of 134, from its last year’s ranking of 124. Additionally, De La Salle University (DLSU) dropped by 11 spots, landing at 171 from last year's ranking of 160.
Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas found light as it went higher in its ranking to 175, a 2-spot increase from the previous year’s ranking of 177.
