MANILA, Philippines – Senator Alan Peter Cayetano addressed the bashers of his popular Php 10,000 ‘ayuda’ bill. He also confirmed that he will continue to pursue the financial assistance because the Filipino public needs it.
In May 2020, Cayetano filed the P10,000 Ayuda Bill to help the Filipino families during the height of the pandemic. Under the bill, Cayetano said every Filipino family will receive P10,000. Unfortunately, the bill didn’t get enough support.
Now that Cayetano is back in the Senate, he said that his proposal is still pending and he needs support from the the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the Palace.
During the oath-taking of Taguig officials, Cayetano clarified that the P10,000 Ayuda Bill is different from the “Sampung Libong Pag-asa” program, which was privately funded. The program started in May 2021 and distributed P10,000 to select beneficiaries. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) halted the program in February 2022 due to election guidelines.
According to Cayetano, if only he could give Php 10,000 to all his bashers, we would. Unfortunately, the bill is still a pending legislative proposal.
“Sa mga nangba-bash sa 10K ayuda, kung kaya ko lang silang bigyan ng tag-sasampung libo, binigay ko na sa kanila. Pero sa katotohanan ito’y isang legislative proposal,” Cayetano said.

He added that those who are criticizing the Sampung Libong Pag-asa Program should find ways to help instead.
“So ang hinihingi ko po doon sa mga tumutuligsa sa programang Sampung Libong (Pag-asa) during the pandemic, tumulong na lang kayo,” he added.
Cayetano said that Rep. Ricardo ‘Ading’ Cruz Jr. and Taguig 2nd District Rep. Maria Amparo Zamora to file the counterpart bill in the Congress so his P10K Ayuda Bill will push through.
“Today may I take the opportunity to ask that two of my pet bills, yung moral uprightness at y’ung sampung libong ayuda, ay i-file din ng ating partner sa Kongreso ni Congresswoman Pammy at Congressman Ading para sabay po lumarga ang ating mga pet bills,” Cayetano said.
Last March, Cayetano revealed his proposal on where to get the funds to give P10,000 for every Filipino family. He suggested instituting a mandatory five percent savings in all government agencies.
“Five percent will give you P250 billion. Once you get P250 billion, you can give each Filipino family P10,000, mayr’on ka pang P50 billion na naka-stand-by,” he explained.
