MANILA, Philippines – Gilas Pilipinas looks to sweep the February 2022 window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers with a massive test against New Zealand at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, February 27.
With two wins by forfeiture against South Korea and a dominant win against India on Friday, the Nationals are facing real test vs the Kiwis in their 7 p.m. match.

New Zealand, ranked no. 27 in the world, is coming off a 55-point win from India on Thursday.
New Zealand brought in a team full of established players, among them Tom Vodanovich, Rob Loe, and Dion Prewster.
PBA stars Roger Pogoy and Robert Bolick and Japan B. League mainstays Dwight Ramos and Thirdy Ravena put in double-digit output to lead the Nationals past the Indians.
Also included in their first assignment were Troy Rosario, Poy Erram, Kelly Williams, Kib Montalbo, Juan Gomez De Liano, William Navarro, Ange Kouame and Tzaddy Rangel.
Gab Banal, Jaydee Tungcab and Lebron Lopez are the three other Gilas players.
In the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup and the 2019 World Cup, New Zealand performed better than Gilas Pilipinas. They finished fourth behind Australia, Iran and South Korea in the Asia Cup, where the Nationals placed seventh. The Kiwis were in 19th place in the World Cup while the Philippines ended up last in the pool of 32 teams.
