MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Wednesday the postponement of the January 2022 Dentist board exam practical phase in Manila or National Capital Region (NCR) due to COVID-19 restrictions.
PRC released Resolution No. 1472 s. 2022 to reschedule the January 6-11, 2022 Practical Phase of the Board Licensure Examination for Dentists (BLED) in NCR to March 1-4 and 8-11, 2022.
The agency cited the sudden change in the alert level classification of the NCR to Alert Level 3 could result to possible (intrazonal and interzonal) movement restrictions on the part of some of the examinees.
"While the thirty percent (30%) capacity limitation could minimize the health risk to some extent, the Board takes into consideration that, unlike the conventional written examination, the Practical Phase of the Dentists Licensure Examination requires examinees to physically move around the examination room, thereby, exposing them to possible close contact with their fellow examinees," PRC said.
PRC added that there is no sufficient time to undertake the necessary arrangements with the schools/testing sites in order to comply with the thirty percent (30%) capacity requirement for the January 2022 Practical Phase of the Dentists Licensure Examination.
Meanwhile, the Theoretical/Written Phase on January 12, 13 and 14 shall proceed as scheduled.
Likewise, both the Practical and Theoretical Phases of the BLED in Baguio, Cebu, Davao, and Iloilo shall also proceed as scheduled.
Relative to this, the online application system will be re-opened from January 6, 2022 to January 19, 2022 to accommodate the examinees in the PRC-NCR who registered in the Theoretical Phase but failed to apply in the Practical Phase of the BLED.
