MANILA, Philippines – Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez has captivated her fans when she competed at the 70th Miss Universe preliminaries.
Bea was a crowd favorite as she became a top trending topic during the Miss Universe 2021 preliminary competition on Friday night, December 10, 2021 in Israel (December 11 in the Philippines).
Bea competed against 79 stunning candidates all over the world for the coveted Miss Universe crown. The preliminary competition will determine who will be the pageant's top 16 candidates to move forward to the semi-finals. It will be selected by the panel of judges and fan votes.

During the introduction, Bea showed her megawatt smile as she wore a sparkly silver cocktail dress. It was from Portia and Scarlett, the official dress sponsor of the pageant.
During the swimsuit competition, Bea strutted down the catwalk as she showed off her "Silent Killer Walk." She wore a hot pink swimsuit from Gottex which was accentuated with a leopard printed bikini shawl. Bea looked confident in heels wearing a bikini.
Bea's fiery red, asymmetrical gown with cutouts by Francis Libiran for the evening gown competition was a picture of sophistication. During her walk, it was mentioned that she is part of the Philippines Navy Reserve Force. Bea was described as being passionate on youth empowerment and uplifting children in conflict with the law.
The 26-year-old beauty queen was described by reigning Miss Universe and preliminary segment host Andrea Meza as someone with big aspirations in life. It was mentioned that Bea is a proud bisexual who overcame her insecurities. Thus, she "wants to share the value of overcoming fears."
Aside from Bea, Filipino pageant fans were also looking at Marian Rivera, who was one of the night's judges. Aside from Marian, the panel of judges included Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima; Indian actress and Miss Universe 2015 candidate Urvashi Rautela; American model and social-media personality Lori Harvey; Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere; Puerto Rican actress Adamari Lopez; American actress Rena Sofer.
Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst and Miss Universe 1976 Rina Mor, who is an Israeli lawyer, are part of the preliminary selection committee.
The coronation night will be happening on Sunday, December 12, 2021 (December 13 in the Philippines).
