MANILA, Philippines – Following the ceasefire between Israel and Palestine, the deployment of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) has resumed.
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced the urgent hiring of 500 Filipino caregivers for Israel. According to the job posting, home-based caregivers are expected to assist Persons with Disabilities including elderly disabled persons in their daily living activities.
Benefits and Salary
The estimated gross monthly minimum wage is at 5300 NIS (5300 New Israeli Shekels which is approximately PhP 77,320.4 exchange rate of 1 NIS= PhP 14.58).
Hired applicants are entitled to weekly rest days, holidays and vacation leaves. Medical insurance and sick pay are also guaranteed.
Other benefits are to be discussed in detail during the orientation.
Because the job is home-based, the caregiver shall be given suitable accommodation in the residence of the employer.
In addition to the salary, the caregiver is entitled to receive a pay set out under the Pension Extension Order, after completing the six months of work in Israel. He/she is also eligible for the severance pay as per the 1963 Severance Pay Law. Under the law, the employer shall be responsible for adding any outstanding sums and should be paid before the end of the employment period.
Expenses by the applicant
There will be no recruitment fees collected from the applicants at any stage of the recruitment process. However, the applicant will have to prepare for some expenses he/she will have to shoulder.
The applicant will be responsible for paying for his/her plane ticket to and from Israel. The medical examination in the Philippines will also be paid by the applicant.
Once hired, the caregiver will also shoulder his/her food and meals while at work.
Duration of employment
The maximum duration of permitted employment is up to 63 months from the time of entry in Israel.
The posting also stressed that the government of Israel and/PIBA are not the employers. The hired applicants will be deployed to their direct employers, the PWD or their family's who hold a permit that allows employment of foreign caregivers.

- At least 23 years of age.
- At least 1.5 meters tall and weigh at least 45 kg.
- BS Nursing or BS Physical Therapist graduate OR Successfully completed at least 10 years of schooling (High School) with TESDA certification for NCII Caregiving with at least 760 hours of relevant training
- English language proficiency enables them to communicate with relevant bodies in Israel.
- Have never previously worked in Israel.
- Do not have parents, a spouse or children currently working or residing in Israel.
- Are physically and mentally healthy, do not suffer from diseases or from chronic medical conditions including (but not limited to) tuberculosis, hepatitis, syphilis, gonorrhea, and AIDS; and are capable of difficult caregiving work in Israel.
- Have clean National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) records from the Philippines.
B. Documentary requirements:
- Print-out of E-Registration account
- Certificate of online Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS)
- TESDA NC II for Caregiver with copy of Training Certificate from a TESDA accredited Training Center (760 hours of relevant training)
- Scanned copy of Passport (data page, valid for at least three (3) years)
- NBI Clearance - six (6) months from the date of issuance
- Copy of Birth Certificate issued by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
- Copy of UMID ID or Voter’s ID or Postal ID or driver’s license of applicant and copy of spouse’s UMID ID or Voter’s ID or Postal ID or driver’s license for PIBA system requirement
- Other requirements or criteria as may be specified by PIBA
