MANILA, Philippines – Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Saturday, November 13 withdrew his candidacy for the vice presidency to seek the highest position in the country in the 2022 national elections.
Go will join the presidential race under Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban). This was after Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa withdrew his COC for president.
“This is a party decision,” Dela Rosa said adding that he is just following orders.
Earlier, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio filed her COC, through a representative, her substitution to run as vice president under Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD). She was also adopted by the political party of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte said he is also running for vice president in next year’s elections.
