MANILA, Philippines – Miss Philippines Cindy Obeñita won the Miss Intercontinental 2021 title in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt on Friday (Saturday morning in Manila).
The 25-year-old Cagayan de Oro beauty queen bested over 70 candidates in the competition.
Obeñita now holds the country's second Miss Intercontinental crown, after Karen Gallman in 2018.
During the Q&A portion, she was asked f speaking English is important for Miss Intercontinental.
"As an ambassador, I don't think that speaking a specific language is very important here in Miss Intercontinental or any pageant at all. As long as that woman is a woman of power and grace, commitment, and intelligence," she said.
Mexico, England, Seychelles, Canada and Colombia are among the runners-up, in order.
Last July, Cindy won the Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental crown during the Binibining Pilipinas coronation night held at the Araneta Coliseum.
