MANILA, Philippines – Controversial former radio DJ and model Karen Bordador, who was acquitted in June this year for a 2016 case of possession and sale of illegal drugs filed against her and her boyfriend, is slowly rising again after being named official housemate of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) celebrity edition.

Dubbed as "Ms. Brightside ng Makati", Karen is set to inspire viewers and share her story after the harrowing nearly 5 years in jail.
Recently, Karen launched her own YouTube channel to fulfill her goal written in her diary 5 years ago to start a vlog.
"I can't wait to share everything happened to me inside. Yes, pretty crazy things so that's a lot of stories to share plus of course my new beginning which I bet it's going to be a really challenging," she said.
In August 2016, police operatives of the Southern Police District (SPD) arrested Karen and boyfriend Emilio Lim in a buy-bust operation in a condominium in Pasig City. Police allegedly raid illegal drugs amounting to P2.8 million.
In her vlog, Karen said she just visited her boyfriend for a surprise and just 30 seconds later, her life completely changed. "Basically, I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. If I would have gone elsewhere that day or if I was little later like few seconds later, that would not happen to me at all."
Karen proved her innocence through the strong evidence of CCTV footage and key eyewitnesses. She fought a long and hard battle to regain her freedom.
Before that painful situation, Karen had a successful career and business. She had multiple endorsements, TV guestings, influencer projects, and movie offers lined up aside from her stable radio show.
Karen is set to enter the Big Brother house, together with other celebrity housemates, on Saturday, October 16.
