MANILA, Philippines – A husband has gained attention online after he shared the surprise gift he prepared for his wife.
While many have tried "money cake" or "balloon cake" as gifts to their loved ones, a creative husband went the extra mile and made his own ingenious surprise gift.
TikTok user Sanchickz shared how he made a "sinampay" or a big blanket of P1,000 bills amounting to over P200,000. It was his gift for his wife for their 13th wedding anniversary. In the video, the husband can be heard trying to prank his wife that her "sinampay" might get wet due to the incoming rain. "Beh, yung sinampay mo na ulan," he said.
The wife hurriedly went to their terrace and was surprised to see the blanket of money hanging on their clothesline.
“Pag-uwi ko galing sa shop ni-ask ko muna anak ko kung nasaan ’yung mama nila, sabi naliligo. Ayun dali dali akong umakyat sa rooftop. Ikukumot ko nga sana ’yun kinabukasan sa kanya habang natutulog but excited eh. Sinampay na lang. Basta can’t explain na-excite lang talaga nang sobra,” he added.
The wife was of course elated with the surprise. While laughing, she jokingly asked her husband, "Saan ko ilalagay to?"
According to the husband, the P200,000 is nothing but a small prize to all his wife's sacrifices and love for them.
“Gusto ko lang talaga pasayahin at maging memorable ’yung 13th anniversary namin ng wife ko. Kung tutuusin, kulang pa po ’yan binigay ko sa lahat ng sakripisyo at pagmamahal niya samin at ’di talaga matutumbasan ng pera ’yun,” the husband said.
The proud husband admitted making the huge blanket of paper bills wasn't an easy task as he had to wrap it in plastic but it was worth all the effort. “Iba talaga kapag ikaw gumawa eh, effort. Mahal naten eh. Nanakit nga likod ko but ok lang para naman sa mahal ko,” he added.
The video went viral as many were amazed with the gift. Many wives even tagged their husbands hinting that they too would be glad with such a clever surprise.
