MANILA, Philippines – Paolo Contis finally broke his silence following his controversial breakup with LJ Reyes and alleged involvement with Yen Santos.
The actor went on to social media to address the speculations and rumors being hurled at him after he ended his 6-year-long relationship with LJ. In a lengthy post on Instagram, Paolo said he is accepting all the criticisms and frustration being sent to him because he knows he "deserves it."
First on his list was the issue that he uses illegal drugs and physically hurts LJ and her children. Paolo vehemently denied this and said he never laid a finger on them. "Minahal at inalagaan ko sila," he said.
However, Paolo admitted to being involved with a third party. He said that in many years of him being with LJ, he became weak against temptations.
"Aaminin ko, naging marupok at gago ako sa ilang taon naming pagsasama. I'm not proud of it. For that, I'm sincerely sorry. I'm truly ashamed of my actions," Paolo explained.
Despite admitting to cheating, Paolo cleared Yen from the issue. He denied that the actress was the reason for their breakup and he was with her in Baguio as a friend.
"She was never the reason of our break up. I was. Kung matagal na kaming hindi okay ni LJ, it was mainly because of me. Masyado niyo siyang diniin sa issue na to. Pati pag promote namin ng movie nabahiran na ng kung anu ano."
"When LJ left for the States with the kids, I went to Baguio for 3 days dahil ayaw ko sa Manila at gusto kong makapag isip isip. Naging insensitive ako about the possible effects nung issue and I invited Yen for a day para may makausap since malapit lang siya sa North din. She went there as a friend," Paolo explained.

The actor also appealed to stop bashing his manager, Lolit Solis because she is his "nanay."
Paolo clarified that he also made it clear with LJ that he was willing to take care of their child, Summer, but eventually let her go with LJ in New York. He said he understood that LJ needed the time and respected her decision.
"I was very clear to LJ when I told her I want to see and take care of Summer kahit hindi kami okay," he said.
"Sana balang araw makapag usap kami ng maayos para sa bata. Madami pang kailangan pag usapan pero sa amin na lang ni LJ 'yun at sana respetuhin niyo 'yun," Paolo added.
Paolo went on apologizing to the people who have been affected and dragged into the issue.
He apologized to LJ, to his daughter Summer and LJ's first child, Aki. He also promised to work on being a better person.
"To Summer, I'm sorry my Ganda. I love and miss you so much. Papa will do his best to be better. I will always be here for you. I promise. To Aki, I wish I could ve done things differently and listened to you more. I'm sorry I failed you. To LJ, I'm very sorry. For everything. Sa lahat lahat," he wrote.
Paolo also mentioned his ex-wife Lian Paz and their children for disturbing their peaceful life. In the end, Paolo asked for privacy and prayers. He said he is willing to accept all the hate because he deserves it.
"Ngayon kung hindi pa po kayo pagod, please direct all your hate and bashings at me. No one else deserves it, ako lang. Thank you," the actor said.
