MANILA, Philippines – GMA Network has welcomed a certain "Kuya" as ABS-CBN's resident weather anchor and trivia master Kim Atienza alludes to network transfer.
On its social media accounts on Wednesday, GMA posted a message of welcome to a certain "Kuya" following speculations that Kim Atienza, fondly called "Kuya Kim" will move from being a loyal Kapamilya to Kapuso.
Netizens were quick to assume that it was Kuya Kim who was being welcomed as the newest Kapuso personality. Earlier, reports have surfaced saying that Kuya Kim was offered not just one but five shows with the GMA network.

Netizens were quick to assume that it was Kuya Kim who was being welcomed as the newest Kapuso personality. Earlier, reports have surfaced saying that Kuya Kim was offered not just one but five shows with the GMA network.

Meanwhile, Kim has broken his silence on the speculations of his network transfer to GMA. During a Facebook Live last Tuesday, he revealed to his followers that he will be going through a "transition." He even urged them to watch his segment on TV Patrol on Friday for his announcement.
"For those who follow me here on Facebook and YouTube, Kuwentuhan with Kuya Kim, remember, a couple of weeks ago, I was... I told you to pray for me because I am in transition. Remember that I will always be very truthful to you, my Facebook and YouTube followers, utang na loob ko sa inyo for following me and for being with me through hard times and good times," the broadcaster confessed.
Kuya Kim went on to explain a bit what he meant by the "transition." He said that this transition was made after he made countless prayers and asked for signs from the Lord.
“And that period of transition is still ongoing. Transition. What does transition mean? Transition is moving from Point A to Point B," he added.
"You know, I’ve been gifted by the Lord with signs whenever I pray for signs, whenever I have to make a big decision. I pray for signs, and the signs have been so clear whenever it’s His will. Whenever it’s His will, the signs are so clear in the decision I make," Kuya Kim added.
“This is what I can say: the transition is real," he remarked.
Following his admission, videos and photos of Kuya Kim allegedly shooting his OBB or opening bumper break shoot circulated on social media.
Sporting a leather jacket, boots and riding his motorcycle, many said that it was Kuya Kim who was spotted entering the GMA network compound. His face was not clear as he was wearing a helmet but many were confident that it was the Kapamilya broadcaster.
Last year, Kuya Kim affirmed his loyalty with ABS-CBN to Philippine Star entertainment editor Ricky Lo. He said, “The ABS-CBN ship is still afloat and is very much alive. I shall stay a Kapamilya till its last breath."
