MANILA, Philippines – A newlywed's dreams of a long fruitful marriage come to an end when the wife died after their LPG tank exploded on September 10.
Jeff Avila posted an emotional goodbye to his wife, Alysa Mariz when she passed away on September 24, days after the accident. The couple got married on July 24, 2021, barely two months and Jeff is in pain for the death of his wife.
According to reports, the couple was preparing to cook their breakfast inside their apartment in Casimiro Town Homes, Barangay Daniel Fajardo, Las Piñas City. They didn't notice that there was already a leak in their LPG tank. It was likely that the rats bit off the hose of the tank. A huge explosion happened when they turned on the stove. It destroyed their home but the couple was still able to get out of the rubble with the help of their neighbors.
Alysa fought for her life at the hospital for two weeks but she eventually passed away. Jeff revealed that a day before his wife died, she was able to mumble the word "24,", which he thinks was already a premonition of her death. He explained that Alysa's birthday was March 24, they got married on July 24 and Alysa died on September 24.
The couple's neighbor, Yvette Leonardo, recalled how they heard and felt a huge explosion on the day of the accident. The explosion was so loud that it broke their house and car windows. Debris was also everywhere. The roof of the victims' house collapsed.
"Ngayon, at least hindi ka na mahihirapan at masasaktan. No more pain love! Makakasama mo narin si papa mo. Basta palage mo kaming gabayan ha. Ikaw ang magiging guardian angel ko love. So pano? Pahinga ka na ha. Ituloy nalang natin ang pagmamahalan natin sa kabilang buhay. I love you so much asawa ko," the grieving husband wrote.
