MANILA, Philippines – Robin Padilla revealed what advice he gave to his daughter Kylie when she broke up with her husband Aljur Abrenica.
The seasoned actor confirmed that Kylie already called it quits with Aljur and the reason was because of an alleged third party.
Robin said, "Meron daw, e. E, imposible ba yun? Hindi naman imposible yun. E, lalaki 'yan."
Robin shared that it was Kylie who decided to break up, admitting she couldn't live with the cheating anymore.
"Kaya lang, hindi na uso mga martir ngayon. Tanggapin natin, wala na tayo dun. Yun ang unang-unang sinabi ko kay Kylie nung nag-usap kami. 'Lalaki iyang asawa mo. Pasalamat ka nga, anak mo, lalaki.' E, wala, hindi raw niya kaya," Robin said.
Robin admitted he didn't want to meddle with their affairs of Aljur and Kylie, especially because they are married. But he asked them to stay away from social media and to keep their issues private for the sake of their children.
"Tumatawag si Ajur sa akin, hindi ko sinasagot. Minessage ko lang siya. Sabi ko, 'Isa lang ang gusto ko. Tumigil kayo sa social media. Nakakahiya 'yan. Wala akong ano diyan. Problema niyo 'yan. Isipin niyo mga anak niyo,'" Robin added.
He went on to explain that while he is not defending Aljur, he understands why he was tempted to cheat. According to Robin, it's impossible for men to stay faithful because human as they are, they cannot say no temptation.
"Nagtaksil yung isa? Tao ka, mangyayari at mangyayari 'yan. Hindi 'yan pwedeng hindi mangyari. Kalokohan ang hindi mangyari [ang third party issue] lalo at nasa showbiz tayo."
Robin said he is "cool" with the third party issue because he has been there and tries to avoid any drama. He said confronting Aljur on the alleged cheating incident would only embarrass him.
"Ano sasabihin ko kay Aljur? 'G*go ka! Ba't ka nambabae?' Sasabihin sa akin ni Aljur, 'Bakit kayo, Pa, hindi ba kayo nambabae?' Ayoko masagot nun! Ayoko. Mapapahiya ako," Robin said while laughing.
Robin clarified that it would be a totally different case if there was physical abuse involved, saying he would never hesitate to confront Aljur. But if it was cheating, the father said he just laughed it off.
"Pero yung ganyang baba-babae, natatawa pa ako diyan. Oo, cool ako. Sa panahon ngayon, huwag tayo maglokohan. Sa panahon ngayon, hindi ako naniniwala na merong lalaking makakatanggi sa tukso…"
"Basta walang pisikal na nangyari. Iyan iwasan natin. Huwag darating doon. Pangit," Robin explained.
Meanwhile, netizens were abuzz over the recent post of Kylie on Instagram just after the statements of Robin trended on social media. She posted a photo of herself admitting that she is having a "headache." She wrote, "Sakit ng ulo ko besh."
