MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivers his sixth and final State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 26, at the Plenary Hall of the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.
Under the Constitution, the Chief Executive is mandated to report the state of the country, unveil the government’s agenda for the coming year, and may also propose to Congress certain legislative measures every fourth Monday of July.

House Secretary General Mark Llandro Mendoza said President Duterte's final SONA will be simple yet special. "‘Yung SONA, sinimplehan natin pero maganda pa rin. Marami tayong ginawa, talagang pinaghandaan ng House,” he said.
Speaker Lord Allan Velasco expects the President to look back on the performance of the administration. “I believe that the President will go back from the start of his administration since 2016. We accomplished a lot in that period."
Based on rehearsals, the speech would run for only 45 minutes.
SONA 2021 will be available through special coverage and livestream video on PTV, Presidential Communications Facebook page and Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM) Facebook page and YouTube channel.

No private media is allowed inside the Batasan due to COVID-19 health protocols.
Other things to expect on Duterte's SONA 2021
Inside the House plenary, the President will address only around 300 people instead of the usual 1,450 under the special security and public health protocols.
Other attendees are expected to join remotely.
Deviating from the practice of hiring celebrity directors like Brillante Mendoza and Joyce Bernal, this year's SONA will be under homegrown director Danny Abad of RTVM.
The SONA would also feature performances from the country’s leading orchestra, the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, while the Lupang Hinirang will be sung by internationally acclaimed singer Morissette Amon.
The full text of President Rodrigo's speech called the "President's Report to the People" will be available online shortly after the President has spoken or around 6:00 p.m.
