MANILA, Philippines – The much-awaited volleyball action returns as the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2021 officially kicked off its first professional season on Saturday, July 17, in a 'bubble' setup in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.
Ten (10) teams will compete in over a month long schedule with games from Sunday to Friday until the elimination round ends on Friday, August 6 (single round-robin). Then, the Top 4 teams will move on the best-of-three semifinals.
Game time at 3PM and 6PM on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; and 1PM, 4PM and 7PM every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
Note: On July 17 and 18 opening matches, games will be held at 3PM and 6PM.
UPDATE: There's a delay on Day 2 games due to leaks on venue's roof brought by heavy rainfall in Bacarra.

NOTE: On July 9, 2021, F2 Logistics announced it will not participate in the Open Conference citing injuries and lack of training due to difficulties maintaining their training bubble.
UPDATE: PVL on July 17 put on hold all scheduled games of the Perlas Spikers in the Open Conference after a member of the team's delegation was tested positive for COVID-19.
To prevent the spread of the infection, the positive individual has been moved to an isolation facility with all members of the team delegation quarantined in individual rooms. They will all undergo RT-PCR testing on the fifth day since their last RT-PCR test.
"Pending the results (of the tests), the scheduled games of Perlas have been postponed," said Ricky Palou, president of the organizing Sports Vision Management Group, Inc.
The Perlas Spikers were booked to play in Saturday's inaugurals of the country's first pro volley league.

It will be the ninth conference of the PVL. The pro league will showcase powerhouse teams and volleyball superstars as the Philippine volleyball team re-united with the addition of teams from the Philippine Superliga (PSL).
