MANILA, Philippines – Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta. Maria finally reached her stars after earning a college degree from the Southville International Schools and Colleges.
Sta. Maria shared the good news through a social media post of her graduation photos with a heartwarming caption.
In her post, the 39-year-old award-winning actress revealed that she dreamt of finishing college ever since she entered the world of show business. After more than 10 years of trying to fulfil this dream, Sta. Maria now holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
The “Broken Marriage Vow” star also shared how she overcame her struggles as a student and a full-time actress. Despite the demands of completing a college education for four years, Sta. Maria didn’t take a hiatus from showbiz and even accepted several projects which became hits.
“In school, whenever I faced a seemingly insurmountable task, I’d always push myself and say “it can be done.” I knew that God was with me all through out my college life and I kept holding on to his promise that I can do all things through Him who gave me strength and supplied me with more than I needed according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. God is always faithful to his word,” Sta. Maria wrote.
Sta. Maria, who was named the top student of her class several times, also received the Dean's Merit from her college.
“Remember, it is never too late, and you are never too old to reach your stars,” Sta. Maria ended her post.
Early this month, Sta. Maria happily shared that she was a step closer to graduation after passing her final thesis defense.
“Being grilled for more than three hours was no joke but I must say all the sleepless nights, the sacrifices, the hours spent in front of the computer to source out materials for my paper were worth it. Marching soon!” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram story.
