MANILA, Philippines – The female traffic violator arrested for assaulting a traffic enforcer is allegedly a drug courier, according to the Manila Police District (MPD-SMaRT) Special Mayor's Reaction Team.
Based on a report by GMA News, members of the MPD -SMaRT found information on Pauline Altamirano’s phone allegedly indicating she was involved in drug transactions. This prompted MPD-SMaRT and District Drug Enforcement Unit to conduct a buy bust operation in Ermita, Manila on Friday, May 28 where they recovered 5 grams of shabu worth P34,000.
Suspects Leopoldo Samero, Redentor Sanchez, Marlon de Guzman and Jason Santiago were arrested during the said buy bust operation.
A video clip of Altamirano hurling expletives and assaulting a traffic enforcer after she was apprehended for violating traffic signal rules in Malate, Manila on Thursday, May 27 quickly went viral.
Prior to the altercation, traffic enforcer Marcus Anzures asked for Altamirano’s driver’s license. However, Altamirano claimed she didn’t have a driver’s license and presented her vehicle’s official receipt/certificate of registration instead.
As part of their "standard operating procedure”, the traffic personnel took a photo of the documents triggering Altamirano to turn violent and slap Anzures.
"Pinicturan mo na 'di ba? Akin na ‘yan,” Altmarino said shouting as she demanded to get her documents back.
The angry motorist was also heard cursing: "Akin na 'yan ibigay mo sa akin yan. Pinicturan mo na, g*** ka ba? T***** mo ah!”
Complaints of driving without license, direct assault, and disobedience to persons in authority were already filed against Altamirano.
