"I'm so sorry kung na-disappoint man kayo sa akin. But I know na I did my best. I even cut my finger earlier and 'yung stockings ko puno na rin siya ng dugo. But I kept fighting," the Filipina beauty queen said.

"Kahit wala nang oras, I didn't have time to retouch my hair, to retouch my makeup. I was running for pins, I was running for scissors, for everything, just to be able to execute the costume really well," she added.

Rabiya later on expressed her appreciation to all those who gave her support and motivated her to continue fighting in the pageant. She also admitted how she felt good while on stage for the national costume competition.

"Kaya maraming maraming salamat talaga guys, ha. I think, in myself kanina, I felt really great. Feeling ko nung naglalakad ako, I was so beautiful. Nakita ko yung cheer ng mga judges, nakita ko yung sigawan ng mga Pilipino kaya nagpapasalamat talaga ako sa suporta."

"Thank you so much guys and tomorrow may competition pa tayo and again, malaking laban ulit kaya ipagdasal niyo sana kaming lahat mga girls to execute yung pinaka-best performance na kaya namin."

She also assured everyone that she will do her best and hopes they will also be proud of her.

"Because our girl really is to make our country proud. Kaya sana, sana, sana maging proud din kayo sa akin kasi it's never easy pero kinakaya ko para sa inyong lahat. Again, maraming salamat," Rabiya said.

Catriona reacts to Rabiya's tearful apology

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray said Rabiya does not need to apologize and continue to fight for the crown.

“@rabiyamateo does not need to apologize! She worked that stage and PER-FORMED. National costume is a segment to celebrate culture and a country’s identity, but isn’t a part of the scoring towards the crown. Kaya laban lang, Queen!”

Earlier, Catrional drew flak when she dropped Rabiya on her top picks for the national costume.
