MANILA, Philippines – Jeremiah Dimapeles Lim of Far Eastern University - Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEU-NRMF) tops the March 2021 Physician Licensure Examination (PLE) with a rating of 89.67%. He got the highest score out of the 1,234 new doctors who passed the licensure exams.
The topnotcher shared that his parents did not expect that their son would become a doctor because they were not able to finish their studies. Moreover, they did not have a lot of money and were afraid that they could not cope with the financial challenges that Jeremiah would face in med school. After all, everyone knows how expensive med school can be.
But while his parents did not expect their son to become a doctor, they supported him with the earnings they got from selling at the small bakery that they own in Pagbilao, Quezon.

Thanks to his parents’ sacrifices and the scholarship he received at FEU-NRMF, Jeremiah was able to finish his studies and fulfill his dreams of becoming a doctor someday!
“Di nila in-expect na makakapagpaaral sila ng doktor kasi hindi nakapagtapos ng pag-aaral ang magulang ko kaya sobrang laking bagay nito sa pamilya namin,” he shared.
Aside from the financial challenges, the new doctor also shared how he nearly didn’t make it to med school because of his low National Medical Admission Test (NMAT)score. While the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) prescribed a cut-off of 40 PR for the NMAT, most schools require a higher rating of as much as 80 to 90; Jeremiah only got 55.

Yet he did not give up on his dream to become a doctor. After he was accepted at FEU-NRMF, he did his best to study and work hard to achieve his dreams. Considering the low NMAT rating he got, it is truly amazing that he would top the March 2021 PLE.
Now that he’s a licensed doctor, he plans to work at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) to serve many poor Filipino families who need medical assistance. He also plans to renovate their old house in Quezon.
Congratulations, Dr. Jeremiah Dimapeles Lim!
