MANILA, Philippines – Actor Albie Casiño became a top trending topic on Monday after he faced several Diehard Duterte Supporters (DDS) online.
Following the declaration of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, Albie was one of those who aired his dismay. On Instagram, he couldn't help but blame those who voted for the Duterte administration in the 2016 elections.
“My face when they said ECQ season 2. Congrats to everyone who voted nung 2016, sana natutuwa kayo ngayon. Vote wisely sa 2022,” Albie wrote.
The "NCR plus" will be under ECQ from March 29 to April 4, amid the rising COVID-19 cases in the country.
The post of Albie was quickly found by several supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte and defended the government's COVID-19 response. Albie didn't back down when he was criticized for his post and replied to several bashers online.
A netizen wrote, "Control ba ng government officials yung virus? Galing mo din mag isip noh. Duh.”
Albie replied, "Imma hit you with some knowledge so try to understand if you can. They obviously don’t control the virus but they do have control over how they handled the virus (we are literally the WORST COVID RESPONSE IN THE WORLD) our neighboring countries should be used as a measuring point look at them and compare to us. Now alam kong bobo ka kasi DDs ka but if you still don’t get it after this wala ka na pag-Asa please don’t breed."
When a netizen came at Albie’s defense, the actor also replied to describe the supporters as dumb. The netizen commented, “”Di ko gets bakit DDS pa din sila hanggang ngayon. Tapos nagrereklamo bakit ECQ daw ulit. Well, binoto niyo siya noong 2016 that’s why.”
Albie responded saying, “Mahihina kasi utak ng mga ‘yan. What do you expect man, you can’t make chicken salad outta chicken s***.”
Meanwhile, on Twitter, Albie’s clapback earned mixed reactions online. While there were those who expressed support, there were also those who called out the actor for his choice of words and being a “classist.”

Good for Albie Casiño cause he’s not a dds, but his use of words? Not impressive. And if isa ka sa mga natuwa sakanya, shame on you.

His anti poor comments are not okay. And his use of the word “retard” to insult? NOPE.
Just like mga dds, he needs to be educated too.
Can people stop commending Albie Casiño's terrible clapbacks. The guy used the r-slur and even bragged that he's making more money than those he argued with. If he wants to knock some sense to those ppl, he should've done it the right way.
