Dr. Jess Dexisne made the people of his hometown, Albay, proud of what he was able to accomplish despite the challenges he had to face to reach for his dreams.

Born to a poor family, Doc Jess had a difficult time going to school because his family could not afford to support his studies. So, even back when he was still in high school, he was already doing odd jobs to support himself and help his family.

Since high school and even when he was already studying nursing as well as medicine, this inspiring young man worked as a barber. He did not let poverty stop him from succeeding in life.

But being a barber is not enough to support all his needs in school. Thus, there were lots of times when he was forced to quit his studies. He had to work harder to save money so he could go back to school again.

This happened many times, yet he did not feel discouraged. Instead, he pushed himself to work harder to achieve his dreams. His hard work paid off. After years of toiling, he finally became a licensed physician after passing the March and September 2020 Physician Licensure Examinations.

Doc Jess hopes that he could help inspire many folks who, just like him, are facing many difficulties due to poverty.

Congratulations, Doc Jess!
