MANILA, Philippines – Some might say that they don’t follow the ideal love story but for an engineer bride and her tricycle driver groom, love is all that matters! They never fought about their respective professions, shared the happy bride.
Sharing their photos on Facebook page Budgetarian Bride, the soon-to-be Mrs. Nolasco admitted that they received their fair share of raised eyebrows from people who just learned their respective professions, yet this has never bothered them in any way.
Despite having very different professions, with the guy having a profession often viewed by society as low, this engineer bride never looked down on her man. She earns more, obviously, yet she explained that a couple help each other achieve their dreams and a woman should not rely on her man for everything.
After 14 years of being together, the two will finally tie the knot! Their sweet and candid pre-nup photos have gone viral, with many netizens expressing surprise at their story and admiration that they were able to stay strong despite their many differences.
“Modern world na tau, paubos na ung mga toxic mag isip ngaun. There will come a time na wala nang tataas ang kilay sa mga ganitong arrangement. Congrats! & Best wishes!” one netizen commented.
“Sobrang swerte ni boy kase nowadays bihira na ang mga ganyang babae 🥺 Lalo na sa panahon ngayon karamihan na ng tao bumabase na sa istado mo sa buhay 😔,” another shared.
But the bride insists that she is the one who is lucky to have found a guy like her tricycle driver groom. She wrote:
“Without the engineer's hard hat and tricycle driver's vest, pantay lang tayo.
Mula noon hanggang ngayon, sa lahat ng pagbagsak at pag-angat ko sa buhay, naniwala ka sa akin at sa kakayahan ko. Hindi ka sumuko. Hindi tayo sumuko. Alam lahat ng kaibigan ko kung gaano ako kaswerteng ikaw ang ka ‘me and my jowa ko’.
Wala tayong dapat patunayan sa ibang tao. Gusto ko lang ipagmalaki kung gaano tayo napatatag ng labing apat na taon.”
