MANILA, Philippines – Claire dela Fuente appealed for sobriety and justice as his son was among the named suspects behind Christine Dacera's rape-slay case.
Dela Fuente's son Gregorio Angelo de Guzman is among the 11 suspects identified by the police to be with Dacera on the night she passed away.

The singer appealed to the flight attendant's mother, Sharon, to practice a "balancing act" and not allow innocent people to be put behind bars. She said that as a mother she understands how she feels but she asked him to be reasonable.
The OPM singer lamented, “I feel sorry for her. Naintindihan ko totally ang nararamdaman niya, 'yung rage, I understand that. Sobrang masakit para sa isang ina ang mawalan bigla ng anak. Di ko rin kakayanin. Pero sana naman may balancing act, maging resonable tayo para 'di tayo makasakit ng mga inosente at makapagbiktima ng ibang tao. Let’s not put innocent people in jail!"
According to Dela Fuente, his son who is a chef and a fitness instructor can overcome all these. She is confident that truth will come out.
“This is so unfair but I know that God has a reason for all of this... The truth is on our side and I am confident na malulusutan ito ng anak ko," she said.
Dela Fuente even recalled how his son called her as he was frantically trying to revive Dacera. He said De Guzman tried so hard to save Dacera but failed.
“Siya ang nag-CPR sa kanya. Gusto niya talagang mabuhay 'yung tao, kaya siya tumawag sa akin that time. Iyak siya nang iyak. He was so frustrated because he wanted to save her life but was not able to," Dela Fuente said.
De la Fuente also laments the ensuing trial by publicity of her son and the other suspects. She also clarified that his son is not in hiding.
“Pairalin naman natin ang logic! At hindi totoo na nagtatago ang anak ko. From the start, andiyan lang siya following police advisory.
At ano 'yung case na provisional homicide rape? Ngayon ko lang narinig yon,” she said.
