MANILA, Philippines – The Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) management released the updated train service schedule for 2020 Christmas holidays and New Year 2021.

LRT-1 Holiday Schedule
LRT-1 will implement shortened service hours on December 24 (Christmas Eve) and December 31 (New Year’s Eve), which were both declared as special non-working days by the Philippine Government under Proclamation No. 845.
On Christmas Eve (December 24), the LRT-1’s operating schedule will be from 4:30 am to 8:00 pm both bounds, and 4:30 am to 7:00 pm both bounds for New Year’s Eve (December 31).
LRT-1 will continue to serve passengers on December 25, 2020 (Christmas Day), December 30, 2020 (Rizal Day), and January 1, 2021 (New Year’s Day) following the regular weekends/holiday schedule.
Roosevelt station will remain temporarily closed until further notice to accommodate the still ongoing construction by the government of the Common Station or the Unified Grand Central Station (UGCS), which will connect the systems of LRT-1, MRT-3, and MRT-7. The last stop of LRT-1 will remain to be Balintawak station, northbound.
LRT-2 Holiday Schedule
The first commercial train will depart from Araneta Center - Cubao and Recto statios at 5:00 am.
The last commercial trains will leave stations at 8:30 pm and 9:00 pm, respectively.
But take note on December 24 and 31, LRT2 will shorten their operating hours in anticipation of a decline in ridership and to allow our station personnel to celebrate this season with their families.
Regular train service operations will be observed on December 25 and 30.
MRT-3 Holiday Schedule
The following are MRT-3’s adjusted train service hours these holidays and on new year:
