Graduate proudly shares photos with tricycle driver dad

MANILA, Philippines – Some days ago, YouTube vlogger and influencer Andrew Luis Lapid, popularly known as Buknoy Glamurrr, tried to motivate his followers to reach for their dreams. But the vlog would draw flak after he belittled a passing tricycle driver in what netizens would call as a judgmental post.

Tulad nito,” the 16-year-old vlogger said while pointing to the tricycle driver.

This angered many netizens who said that it was unfair for the young vlogger to generalize that tricycle drivers are ‘just like that because they have no dreams in life’. Many pointed out that these tricycle drivers work a noble, honest job.

Despite the meager income, many have actually sent their children or siblings to school, providing them a better life in the future.

Jan Marini Capacio was among those who felt insulted by Buknoy’s post. The youngest child of a tricycle driver, she knew the sacrifices that her father had to go through, just to send them all to college. Moreover, when she got sick with bone tumor, it was her tricycle driver dad who worked nearly non-stop just to make sure she will live!

Angry at Buknoy for the judgmental post, Capacio proudly shares some photos with her tricycle driver dad on her graduation day from college. While he is ‘just a tricycle driver’, Capacio’s father was able to help them fulfill their dreams of earning a degree.

He didn’t have a college degree, but he is living his dreams in the success of his children! Isn’t that the most important thing?

Capacio wrote the following open letter for Buknoy:

Hi Buknoy,
