MANILA, Philippines – More than 100 local and foreign nationals including multimedia host KC Montero were arrested by the police at a high-end bar in Makati City on Sunday, June 28, for allegedly violating community quarantine rules.
Montero and his wife were among the 121 people nabbed by the police from the resto-bar located on the 18th floor of a condominium in Salcedo Village, Barangay Bel-Air.
Authorities said these customers were caught drinking liquor and even violated the social distancing measure.
Makati City is currently under the general community quarantine and bars are prohibited from operating.
Montero clarified that they went the bar just for dinner.
"That place was open before so parang feeling ko, okay. Why were they open if they're not allowed to open? Maybe that's my fault, I didn't do my research. So feeling ko, they're allowed to be open. So I went," he told the press.
Arrested individuals were brought at a covered court in Barangay Guadalupe Nuevo to allow for physical distancing.
They will face charges for violation of Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases Law, according to Makati Police Chief PCol Oscar Jacildo.

"They arrest us for protecting us for social distancing tapos force us to not social distance, and then put us--did you see the truck there? That's bad."
