MANILA, Philippines – Good news to all Kapamilya!
ABS-CBN Corporation is set to launch the Kapamilya Channel, a temporary replacement of the main terrestrial ABS-CBN network Channel 2, on June 13 or more than a month after the country's biggest broadcaster has gone off air due to expiration of legislative franchise.
On Thursday, June 4, ABS-CBN revealed the plan to resume broadcast of well-loved shows, including new programs.

As ABS-CBN is not yet allowed to operate on analog and digital for their flagship channel TV-2 and sports arm S+A on TV-23 due to prolonged Congress hearings on alleged network violations, the Kapamilya network finds more ways to deliver its commitment for news, public service, and entertainment to every Filipino around the world.
Here's how to watch the returning ABS-CBN's programs and new lineup starting Saturday, June 13 on pay TV Kapamilya Channel:
As announced, Kapamilya Channel will be available on SKY, Cablelink, G Sat, TFC and most member-cable operators of the Philippine Cable Television Association (PCTA) nationwide.
1. SKY Cable - Channel 8 on SD (standard definition) and Channel 167 on HD (high-definition)
SKY cable, a cable television service of Sky Cable Corporation, is a subsidiary of the media conglomerate ABS-CBN Corporation. It has 700,000 subscribers controlling 45% of the cable TV market.
2. Cablelink - Channel 8
Cablelink is a subscription-based cable antenna television system operator which commenced its CATV operation in 1995. It is owned and operated by Cable Link and Holdings Corporation. Currently, it operates in the southern part of Metropolitan Manila, select area in Cavite, Tarlac (Concepcion) and some parts of Quezon City.
3. G Sat Direct TV - Channel 2
G Sat or Global Satellite is a subscription-based direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television service owned by Global Satellite Technologies Services, Inc. (GSTS).
4. PCTA member operators
The PCTA is the umbrella organization of cable television operators in the Philippines. Its membership roster includes the biggest cable operators in the country as well as the medium and small cable operators who, through their pain-staking efforts, have succeeded in bringing up-to-date programs, information, and technology to the farthest island in the country.
To date, the PCTA has 360 regular members and 32 affiliate members. Together, the PCTA member-cable operators are serving 75% of the total cable TV subscribers in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, if your cable operator is under FICTAP (Federation of International Cable TV and Telecommunications Association of the Philippines), it will not carry the Kapamilya channel. Note that FICTAP President Estrellita Juliano-Tamano alleged in an interview with GMA News that ABS-CBN violated laws for operating six channels under one franchise.
5. The Filipino Channel (TFC) - for overseas Filipinos
6. iWant app or iWant.ph - livestreaming and on-demand only
7. Cignal - Available on October 21, 2020
Excited fans of ABS-CBN are also looking for the possibility if Cignal, a satellite television and IPTV provider under MediaQuest Holdings Inc., will also have Kapamilya Channel.
Kapamilya Channel assignment and availability
ABS-CBN said the cable and satellite TV channels that will carry the Kapamilya Channel are owned and operated by other companies and are not covered by the cease and desist order issued by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to ABS-CBN.
Kapamilya Channel programming, schedule
Most of the returning programs are under ABS-CBN Corporation's Entertainment division. Here's a lineup of shows.
