MANILA, Philippines – Actress Heart Evangelista has started giving away tablets to less fortunate students to help them in online classes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"My struggle, my happiness, my story is on every canvas. I know it's also for a reason glory to God. Worth 550 tablets to kids and students who need it the most," Heart shared on social media.
She expressed that "time, hardwork and love" poured for her artwork allowed her to buy the first batch of tablets for the students.
The actress also advised those in need of tablet to just message or tag her on Instagram instead of Twitter for better handling of requests.
On Thursday, Heart announced her plan to reach out students who are in need of tablets for their online classes. Posting a photo of a Cherry tablet, Evangelista said she will give away tablets as many as she could.
She tweeted, "I heard having a tablet or computer is a requirement for online classes so I will do the best I can. I’m sorry I can’t help everyone but I will try to help as much as I can."
Though not known to many, Evangelista has been sending financial assistance to many of her followers online. She helped purchase medicines for the elderly, milk for babies, payment for dialysis, medication for cancer patients and many others.

My struggles in life are unknown to many but art, fashion and expressing myself has always helped me cope with my not so fairytale life. The time, hardwork and love that I put out in this artwork was well worth it as the proceeds have allowed me to purchase 550 tablets for angels pic.twitter.com/5lQTY2mhI9— LoveMarie O. Regarding tablets ok lang ba to message or tag me on ig? Not twitter ? Sorry po kasi Di ko makita yung ibang messages na need ng medical assistance . I will also be creating a better system on my ig with my team Soon para mas marami kami mabasa na dm 🙏🏻Salamat 🤍— LoveMarie O. Escudero (@heart021485) June 5, 2020
