MANILA, Philippines – Former senator and actor Ramon Revilla Sr. passed away Friday, June 26. He was 93.
"Wala na po 'yung tatay ko. Please pray for him," Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. emotionally shared in a Facebook video.
Bong said his father succumbed to heart failure at 5:20 Friday afternoon.
"He is now free from physical pain and is in the loving arms of our Creator," the younger Revilla said.
"Thank you very much for the love and prayers, as we ask for continuous prayers for the eternal repose of his soul," he added.
Last month, the former actor was rushed to the hospital, where he was hooked to a ventilator.
The multi-awarded actor known as the "Hari ng Agimat" in Philippine movies won a Senate seat in 1992 and served as lawmaker until 2004.
