The 2021 Undergraduate Scholarship is for incoming Grade 12 students in AY 2020-2021 who intend to pursue STEM courses when they enroll in college next year.

August 7, 2020 Update: DOST-SEI postponed the conduct of DOST scholarship exams this year. New target is between January - June 2021.
TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIP
Students who belong to families whose socio-economic status does not exceed the cut-off values for certain indicators may apply for RA 7687 program, otherwise, applicants may apply for the Merit Scholarship Program.
RA 7687: For academically talented students who belong to economically disadvantaged families. Qualifiers must pursue priority fields of study in the basic sciences, engineering, other applied sciences, and science and mathematics teaching.
MERIT: Awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and are willing to pursue careers in the fields of science and technology.
QUALIFICATIONS: Who are eligible?
1. Natural-born Filipino citizens
2. Grade 12 students under the STEM track
3. For non-STEM Grade 12 students: those who belong to the upper 5% of the graduating class; and
4. For High school graduates prior to the K-12 program: those who have not yet earned any post-secondary units in college/university level (must also be part of the upper 5% in his/her high school graduating class).

On March 29, a total of 9,788 graduating senior high school students clinched a slot in the country’s premier science scholarship programs for SY 2020-2021. Out of the total number of passers, 5,917 qualified as scholars under the RA 7687 while while 3,871 qualified under the DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship Program.
The 2020 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Examination, which was held on October 20, 2019 in 347 test centers nationwide, hit a record-breaking 102,526 examinees. View list of qualifiers here.
