MANILA, Philippines – The Low Pressure Area (LPA) East of Quezon Province has developed into tropical depression and was named "Butchoy", state weather bureau PAGASA announced in its 5:00 pm bulletin on Thursday, June 11.
'Bagyong Butchoy' made landfall at Polillo, Quezon at 5:30 PM and at Infanta, Quezon at 6:00 PM.

At 4:00 pm today, the center of Tropical Depression 'Butchoy' was estimated based on all available data at 75 km Northwest of Daet, Camarines Norte or 95 km East of Infanta, Quezon.
'Bagyong Butchoy' has maximum winds of up to 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 55 km/h. It is moving West Northwest at 20 km/h.

Moderate to heavy rains over Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Western Visayas, Oriental Mindoro, and the rest of Bicol Region and Palawan. Light to moderate with at times heavy rains over the rest of Luzon and Visayas.
Between tomorrow morning and Saturday morning: Moderate to heavy rains over Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, the northern portion of Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands, Mindoro Provinces, and Pangasinan. Light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Western Visayas and the rest of Luzon.
Flooding and rain-induced landslides may occur during heavy or prolonged rainfall especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards.

Moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.4 m) will be experienced over the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas in the next 24 hours.
Those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out to sea while larger sea vessels must take precaution against rough seas.
