Trees were filled with roof materials in photos taken at Sta. Monica, Oras in Eastern Samar, as Typhoon ‘Ambo’ makes landfall in San Policarpo, Eastern Samar, on Thursday afternoon, May 14.
With maximum sustained winds of up to 155 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 255 km/h, several areas were placed under Signal No. 3, including Oras and nearby towns and cities.
In photos shared by Renzel Copico, trees outside a school looked like they were decorated with roof materials. The coconut trees in the background also had their leaves harshly bent towards one direction, clearly showing that strong winds are battering the area.
There were also cut electricity wires and GI sheets on the road as well as inside the school yard.
Copico also shared a number of videos to show just how strong the winds are blowing at their seaside town. The videos brought fear to many netizens who hoped that the storm won’t bring storm surge into the town, just like what happened during the deadly Typhoon Yolanda that also lashed in Eastern Samar and nearby areas.
