MANILA, Philippines – 'Bagyong Ambo' (international name: Vongfong) maintains its strength and now over the coastal waters of Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur, state weather bureau PAGASA announced in its 8:00 am bulletin on Saturday, May 16.
Tropical Storm 'Ambo' is likely to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday afternoon (May 18).
At 7:00 am today, the center of 'Bagyong Ambo' was estimated based on all available data including those from Mt. Sto. Tomas (Benguet) Doppler Radar over the coastal waters of Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur.
'Ambo' has maximum sustained winds of up to 75 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 125 km/h. It is moving North Northwestward at 20 km/h.
